I've seen this happen in the last when a DNS problem prevents resolving the
system's own hostname used for virtual printer definitions and the link from
/var/spool/lpd/pio/<yourHostName> to /var/spool/lpd/pio/@local.
Also, check /usr/lib/lpd/pio/etc to ensure you don't have any files ending
in ".config" which are left overs from AIX 3.2 but cause this problem if
present on an AIX 4.3 system. (AIX 5.1 and above ignores their presence)
It could also be that your /usr/lib/lpd/pio/etc/*.attach files either don't
exist (fileset not installed or the files have been removed).
