trouble installing the supplementary iso for Solaris 9 i am trying to install solaris 9 from iso's downloaded from sunsolve.
onto an ultra-1. i burned the iso's on a mac since i have no burner
on my suns. i used the both the lacie cd burner and the pioneer 106
burners on the mac.
the ultra-1 cdrom fails to read any of the burned cds. i unhooked
it from the scsi chain and attached a philips cd-burner at station 6
of the scsi chain, and eventually got the two system cd's installed,
as well as the language cd. the supplementary disk can be read,
and a file appears on the file manager.
when i open the original files on the mac, i see all the individual
packages and their installers. the file manager does not show anything
like this. when i tried '/bin/sh sol-9-supp.iso' or something like
that name, i eventually am told that XXXXSolaris cannot be found.
is there any way to disassemble the iso to gain access to the
individual packages?
to avoid the burning problem i have used my ethernet to put the .iso
image on the ultra directly. is there any way to open this and gain
access to the stuff i want to install?
