My blade that I've been using for many months now has suddenly decided
to misbehave after being powered off for a few days.

When booting it, *sometimes* doesn't display anything ie blank screen. I
think I've tracked this down to a faulty frame buffer (shame really: it
was an XVR1000) but as yet I'm not totally convinced and am still
working on this. Frame buffer has been removed for now.

My problem at the moment is that the system will not power off with any
of: poweroff, shutdown -y -g0 -i5, power-off at the ok prompt or even at
the switch on the front (press or press and hold). The only way is to
remove the power cable which when re-plugged, powers up the system.

Any ideas?
