the problem is probably that the new Ultra 40 only has PCI express and
old PCI 32Bit/33MHz slots. The regular LVD SCSI options from Sun are
PCI-X. Even LSI-Logic has currently only one adapter with PCI express.
Adaptec seems to have none, as far as I can see.
Did you consider getting a Java Workstation W2100z instead? It isn't
available with dual-core processors, but can also take 16G of ram and
there is an option for U320-SCSI, because it has PCI-X slots. If this
does not fit, I guess you won't have to wait long until there is an U320
with PCI-Express from Sun...
