Ken,
this group is for questions related to the HP-UX OS and occasionally the
RISC or IA-64 hardware that supports it. The HP Pavilion is a PC produced by
HP, but not in the least related to this forum.
You'll have better luck in a PC-related group...
That being said, you've answered your own question:

That is indicating that you don't need to maintain pairs of DIMMs, which
usually indicates they also don't need to be of the same size.
