For starters, change any occurences of abc.com to xyx.com in the following:
/etc/hosts
/etc/resolv.conf
/etc/default/tcp
/usr/mmdf/mmdftailor
/usr/lib/sendmail.cf
Stop and restart sendmail and see if your problems have gone away.
