OK lets do it slowly.
Two partitions a primary one and extended one created and used by
MS-Glassware. Good!.
Large part of the disk unused (partitioned or not by anything).
In this part you want to install Linux. VERY Good!!!
Start the install, when prompted call (c)fdisk, delete whatever kind of
partitions exist in this part and recreate partitioning, primary or
extended and install.
I found that when working with different OS's it is best to use tools
"native" to each OS. Saves a lot of grief.
