You can upgrade in place if you want. See UPGRADE.TXT on your favourite
Slackware mirror.

AFAIK, it will (although I've never used swaret.) It might not upgrade
the X packages however (due to the name change from XFree to X11). You
can use removepkg and installpkg to fix this.
