Sounds like someone from Virginia Tech. I went to U.Va.(and W & M after that)
so I understand the educational culture you are in (or from). Son, life is
not binary. Get out of Blacksburg and learn about the non-academic "real
world" a bit.... and you'll find that technology has a human face behind it.

If you ever get a job that you can be fired from as opposed to a government
academic 'appointment for life' you will understand more of the above.
Indeed, if anyone needed a "shrink session" these days it's the current crop
of engineering graduates who come into the world with zero social skills, no
social conscience, and an entitlement mentality.
