Doesn't Slackware ship with quota? Just because it defaults to
resiserfs doesn't mean reiserfs is best for what you want to do. If
you're going to use quota, it's your reponsibility to ensure that
quotas work with your filesystem.
It's my understanding that quoatas work with reiserfs in the 2.6
kernel.
