I had this same problem, and at the suggestion of another member of
this newsgroup, I uncommented the "hid" line, and it worked. (Thanks,
Jacques!) Uncommenting both lines also worked.

However, after a period of inactivity (maybe a couple of hours), the
mouse cursor disappears. I can't say if this would happen if the mouse
were being used... this is a server box. I found that unloading +
reloading the modules using "rmmod" and "insmod" restores it. But it
is annoying to do that all the time, and I'd like to figure out what
the problem is. Any suggestions?
