I've gotten datasheets and such from semiconductor manufacturers, and
they've been mailed from Europe, even though I'm in Canada and the companies
were in the US. I get the impression they use a mailing company in
Europe to handle the rest of the world, and never mind that it probably
is simpler to send it directly to Canada.

So perhaps there is a mailing company in France, with the CDROMs sent
to them in bulk via the cheapest shipping route, and once there they
are packaged and mailed out. Maybe this results in them arriving faster,
and without a high shipping cost.

But I know nothing of whether this is really the case, and maybe it's
just a silly oddity.
