Heck. Never mind aeroplanes, /bits/ fly between London and the USA faster than
aeroplanes do.

It's more likely a question of who actually 'presses' the CD set, rather than
how they are shipped. There's no reason that the CD sets need to be 'pressed'
(burned, printed and packaged) in the USA, then shipped to the UK or to France.
The bits can be shipped easier, and a UK or French service can 'press' them into
CDs for delivery.

In fact, I'll bet that's exactly what happens: a publisher in France downloads
the isos and artwork, 'presses' the CD sets, and mails them to all points in
Europe. Convince the publisher to open a UK press, and they'll mail the CDs from
London (or Birmingham, or Glasgow, or Leeds, or wherever). Convince Slackware
Inc. to use a UK publisher and get the same results.
