No, KDE hasn't been upgraded. It's been recompiled with the cyrus-sasl
library.

er, an update of 1 minor version is unlikely to make much difference in
terms of performance, but in any event this is merely an update in -current
to keep up with current releases. I think PV stated elsewhere that 2.6 will
be the default in 11.0.

No, alsa hasn't been updated. It's merely been rebuilt with new kernel, as
per correct practice.

On another note, given you're of the lowest user level in this group and you
(apparently) know how to use an ftp client, do you really envisage that
there are others here (predominantly of a higher user knowledge level) who
don't?

Not likely. 10.1 was released like 1/2 months ago. Any new release will be a
while off yet.
