I really laughed at this. This was probably one of the funniest posts ever
to be on this ng. Terrific imagery and wonderful use of the vernacular. I'm
serious. This was great writing.

Hicks is right. I drew the line in the sand a long time ago and said I won't
be chased off or bullied. I have a right to be here, I'm going to stay
here, and I'm not going to take the kind of crap from the leader-dogs that
they dish out to others.

A few of you hamster-brains keep crossing the line and think you're a match
for me... and at the end of the day you're simply not. Compared to the
literary world and the 'men of letters' that I've debated, this is bush
league. I give Dan C, 'ken' and a few of the other 'princes of darkness'
credit for their attempts of character assassination ... but not too much.
It's easy to be brave and talk tough when you lurk in the shadows. After
two years I'm still standing. I'm still here. THEY are the ones who are
pissed off, not me. Sooner or later they will get tired of this and will
realize that they don't hold the mortgage on a.o.l.s.

By the same token, those who show civility get treated with civility. Some
of you guys keep crossing the line and I keep beatin' you back. But I stay
on my side and and I don't %$#@ with you unless you ^%$# with me. That's
been my rule and I stand by it. You want to fight? Ok, I'll fight.
Otherwise meet me half way and engage in a meaningful and intelligent
dialectic. You make the choice.

So Hicks is right. If you don't want the peaches don't shake the tree. I'm
here, I'm staying here, and if you don't like it then you are going to have
to make an adjustment... and the best adjustment is to simply put me in
your kill file or ignore my postings and go on about your life.

Even a hamster-brain can understand that.
