I'm installing 10.1. I ran xorg-conf to set up my monitor/video card.
The card is a Trident 9660. The chip is Providia. I tried both.

In 640x480 everything looks OK - but very large. In higher resolution
horizontal lines (tearing?) appear in large numbers. I started
xvidtune, but even after reading the man page I wasn't sure what
parameters to modify.

There used to be a database of modelines but I can't find one.
Apparently most of the drivers no don't need them.

BTW, the monitor/card work fine under W98 at 1024x768 and IIRC, I even
had it running at 1280 x 1024 at one time.

Any suggestions?
