As far as I know it is a problem in the combination of Flash 9,
nvidia driver for X11 and the X11 version of Slack 10.2.
It also happens with firefox 1.5 and even Mozilla 1.7.13
Systems without nvidia (cards and drivers) haven't had any
problems, even in 10.2

No, same systems that consistently crashed under 10.2 now are
rocksteady here with 9.0r31 under 11.0
Of course the X11 version _did_ change, from 6.8.x to 6.9.0 and we
now also are using newer nvidia versions too.
