Default Asynchronous I/O on AIX 5.2 - Does Sybase 12.5.2 need Legacy or Posix?

I am installing a Sybase 12.5.2 server on an AIX 5.2 box.

I went to enable Asynchronous I/O on the box to discover that there
are 2 options, Legacy or Posix.

Does Sybase need either or both of these active to work?

Tom.

Using Sybase 12.5.0.3 on AIX 5.2, I active both asynchronous I/O.
Seems that Legacy asynchronous I/O must be enabled rather than
Posix :
