So please provide me with the output of "ls -l /usr/X11R6/bin/X"

i tried now again more the mount_union approach because
i want the CD to consume less memory (< 32 Mb)
because X stops with

xf86MapVidMemory ... /dev/mem [-s=20000, ...] invalid argument

or something like this. i guess X needs much memory

ok thanx i got this now, but another problem occured, which i had not
before but i can't remember, what i changed:

when i get the line

login:

and i type special charakters of my keyboard (kbd de)
i see these characters. after login, i just get a loud beep
instead of some keys, but the rest works.

I hope this is my last problem of the "core problems" (not application-
specific-problems)

must get the middle button mouse first ...
but i think copying from xterm to other applications still
is application-dependent and windows-manager-dependent

thanx. tried xmms for which i have to rename mp3-files to mpg-files
that anything happens, but then only white noise is played and
sooner or later a core dump occures. Netscape, Abiword, gimp, xwpe
seem to work fine

as far as i know:
you first do a mount_mfs to reserve space for them (done with fstab)
and then you just untar the archive into this space

the more interesting steps are:
what are the changes to fstab and rc?

greetings
