Default NFS with SCO UNIX and Debian distro

I have tried to make a SUSE NFS Server for 4 SCO UNIX V5 Workstations.
They all map to the files ok and can read them, but none have
write/modify or delete privileges. The user name I created on the
machines has the same username, passwork and user/group id. My next
attempt was to try a Debian distro. Has anyone attempted this
configuration? Or does anyone know why my SUSE wouldn't work? I
really didn't want to buy a 5th SCO UNIX System just to be a NFS Server.
