| Hi, I have a strange problem. My system is a Slackware 10.0 with Kernel 2.6.7. I wrote a large file (300MB) to my FAT32 partition and when I rebooted, the file disappeared! Then I wrote a folder with some photos (45) by about 400-500KB, rebooted, same situation! There is any known problem? Thank you |

Then my suggestion would be to try to downgrade to the default 2.4.26 kernel and see if that helps. Even though the 2.6-series is supposed to be stable we must realize that as long as there is no 2.7-series development version the 2.6 kernels are used as a playground for testing new technologies. This could bring bugs into the kernel that would belong to a development version. Does version 2.6.7 contain any feature that you really need? regards Henrik -- The address in the header is only to prevent spam. Is your machine a dual-boot Linux/Windows system? If yes, you will loose data from FAT32 partitions as long, as you will keep using the "Hibernation" feature in Windows. This problem was discussed here some time ago. Regards, jkb -- Jacek K. B³aszkowski GAT/L/MU d+ s+:+ a-- C++$ UL++$ US+> P L++ E--- W+ N++ o+ K- w+$ O? M> V? PS+ PE++ Y-- PGP++ t 5?
