Default Netra-20 LOMLite passoword recovery/reset

Hello all,

Recently, the company I work for had a Sun Netra 20(T4) server from our
customer.
The problem is that we can not boot up this server or even login to LOM
in order to execute
power-on command.

Every time it asks for LOMLite logun/password while connected to the
serial port and opened terminal
window.

Our problem is that we do not know this password and our customer did
not remember it also.

Does anyone know how to reset the server so that there is no LOMlite
users accounts
information and the default first time password and prompt to appear?

I belive that ther should be some jumper to short-circuit for this or
any other procedure.

Could somebody help me, please?

Please, send any idea or advice to ladislo@gmail.com also.

Thank you in advance.

There's a util on a running Solaris system to manage the LOM password.
You should be able to find that in the LOM docs pretty easily.

But this means you have to have a running system first.

There's no jumper to short this out, or keystroke to clear it, its
designed as a security measure to keep it secure even with somewhat
physical access.

The last time I had to clear things like this on some random systems,
I found another system like the one I needed to clear, installed an
OS, and then swapped the hard drives. The passworded system booted up,
I could clear the LOM password, then I had full control.

If your LOM is password protected from even booting, I think you're SOL.
You'll probably have to contact Sun support to find out if there are
any backdoors that they won't publish otherwise.

If it just doesn't boot because of bad disk or no OS, then find
something simular enough and physically move a disk over.
