| While perusing other newsgroups, I happened upon this interesting bit of information . . . . ------------------- Robustness of pl/pgSQL, pl/PHP, pl/JAVA, pl/TCL, pl/PYTHON ? your choice ! PostgreSQL has triggers, SP,... > BTW, what platforms do postGre SQL and Informix port to? Isnt informix > dead? IBM bought it and are shutting it down right? yes, there will be 9.50 and 9.60 and then Informix ends. (sig not included) -------------------------------------------------------------- This individual also mentioned something along the same lines in c.d.i a while back as well. Since I haven't heard anything official from IBM, I'm guessing that this is just a bit of FUD. Can anyone clarify this information? |

Hell, when Informix ran Informix no-one had visibility of whether there were even 2 releases into the future. Clearly just someone who hasn't worked out that the arrow means "it continues in this direction..." |

And with all those marketing dollars, that promotional effort and those Infobahns IBM is putting into supporting Informix to the hilt, how could the casual observer *possibly* conclude that Informix is "dead" and IBM are "shutting it down"? |
