Default emerge rsync message

Hello,

after rsync-ing the gentoo database i ge at the end the following message:

----------------- cut ------------------
>>> Updating Portage cache... |

!!! eclass 'GPL-2' in 'GPL-2' does not exist:
...done!
----------------- cut ------------------

Anything to mind aboutt it ?
What went wrong ?

I also got this yesterday, seems to be fixed today,
but now I get a:
>>> Updating Portage cache... \

aux_get(): (0) Error in dev-lang/perl-5.8.0-r12 ebuild.
Check for syntax error or corruption in the ebuild. (--debug)

and perl-5.8.0-r12.ebuild shows stuff from procmail, mozilla, evolution and
a lot of ^@ in it, but nothing about perl.

did there somthing went wrong with the download (copied many files in one)?
