Very good. let's see if Safra breaks out new license revenue for each of
these today. If she does then, and only then do I see how Oracle can
take a moral high road against IBM not breaking out IDS revenues.

Cheers
Serge

Are you saying that the moral imperative at IBM is "we don't do it
until Safra does it first?"

I live by the rule that before I ask others to do something I make sure
I do it myself.
I am not asking Oracle to break out their revenues. But Mark appears to
be rather interested.
So Yes. To get his wish Oracle has to go first. :-)

Cheers

I guess if the norm in the industry was to break out the numbers, IBM
would do it too. Since it's evidently not, and since the only people who
score from it are the competition, I can only assume you're doing your
usual lame-arsed job of trolling.

Do you have the power and authority to deliver on behalf of IBM? ;-)
Likely as much as Mark does at Oracle methinks.

I don't post here unless invited in. Writing, as someone did, that
PL/SQL is clumsy or clunky or whatever was an invitation for someone
to respond.

Had the comment included a code example I'd have either not commented
or, more likely, agreed with the OP. But just bashing a product as a
feel good exercise is an invitation with embroidery.

And, just to throw a bit of petrol on the fire, I've yet to see anyone
post an Informix equivalent to what I wrote. Although, come to think
of it ... I can't remember when I've ever seen anyone in this group
post code. Can anyone here write some or do you just use this forum
to whine about Oracle and IBM? <g>

Ok that was unkind ... I apologize. I'll slink off into the darkness
of my grotto now. No presents from Santa at my house.

Regards.

If that's what you consider an invitation, here's another one: fuck off.

If you say so, Daniel. I think the truth is more like, "Oh, they said the
word Oracle, let me go troll some more."

We whine about Oracle because it pisses you off. Personally, I couldn't be
arsed to a) downgrade to a T43; b) get your exact spec of tin and c)
download IDS to try to find an equivalent piece of code to try and make
you feel useful.

I have better things to do with my day than perform like a trained seal
for Oracle's favourite troll.

Don't apologise. I, for one, don't need your apology. But if you were to
fuck off and die, that would be nice.

I hope your yacht springs a leak for Christmas.

I think that's he's insecure about something and has a lousy sense

I'm not sure I am following this anymore - what revenue numbers do we
need to break out and why ?
