Neil,
The good news is that IDS 11 is already certified and supported on RedHat 5

>From the ids_machine_notes_11.10.txt :

Built on Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 4 (Nahant Update 3).
Certified on RHEL 5, SUSE SLES 10 .......

Also
RedHat 5 certifications for IDS 10 has been completed and the web pages
will be updated soon...

bye
Sandor

IDS support for RedHat

Does anyone know when IDS will be supported on RedHat AS 5, which has been
the latest version for some months now?

The continued absence of support for this version is costing some of our
customers money, the reason being that the RedHat Cluster Manager software
and Global File System softwareare included in AS 5, but have to be
purchased separately (and in the case of GFS it's about £1,200 per node),
which adds to the cost of an Informix cluster, possibly unnecessarily.

Thanks

Thanks for the info, Andreas/Sandor.

I was indeed taking it from the Website, not the Release Notes.

I won't be recommending v11 for customers with mission-critical systems just
yet, so am stuck with 10.0xC5. Are you 100% certain that if I place a
support call for IDS 10 on RHEL AS 5 I won't be told by UK or Australia Tech
Support that this is not a supported platform?
