That's put the cat amongst the pigeons for me. We were just in the
throws of negotiating a move to R3 to drastically reduce our license and
support costs. I'll certainly be trying to find out more about the
development roadmap and support options going forward from my account
manager tomorrow. Does this mean that the development team at CA are
all going to move to the new organisation? The inclusion of several ex
senior Oracle staff is encouraging that they mean serious business with
this.

Wow. Don't know quite what to think about that yet, but Garnett &
Helfrich
do have a pretty good reputation. They specialize in "salvage". They
buy
good technologies from companies where they have failed to thrive and
turn
them around.

I was assured that all support options, including Follow The Sun style
support, would remain available from Ingres corp.

Many of them, yes. CA will keep some Ingres knowledge on board since
they're banking quite heavily on Ingres themselves, but everyone that
I've personally had contact with in the past seems to be moving to
Ingres corp.
