Default [Info-Ingres] How to view the list's archives

Gang,

Several folks have struggled with accessing the archives. I would suggest
going to

http://groups.google.com

and searching the

comp.databases.ingres

newsgroup, since the list (as the former list at
info-ingres@cariboulake.com)
is gatewayed to that USENET group.

If you REALLY want to access our three months of archives (the
list has only lived at Kettle River for 3 months and I didn't have the
resources to drag the archive along from Caribou Lake), then try
the following.

At the bottom of every list E-mail there is a link:

http://www.kettleriverconsulting.com...fo/info-ingres

Go to that link, scroll to the bottom of the page and enter your subscribed
email address in the field next to "Unsubscribe or edit options" text.

This will bring you to a screen with a button called "Remind". Push
that button.

The password for your user will be sent to that email.

With that password, go to the list archive at

http://www.kettleriverconsulting.com...e/info-ingres/

and use your username and password for access.

Cheers,

Mike Leo

Default Re: How to view the list's archives

I use google groups all the time, its a good resource, the link is:
http://groups.google.com/group/comp.....ingres/topics

... and the "Search this group" button (top right)
Had a quick check and the oldest post I could find is from 1992

The search mechanism has changed recently, it used to work like
unix grep, but now you have to match on the full word to get a hit:
e.g. a search for 420 *won't* find dm420

Its a prob when you want to search for an E_rror
e.g. you have to search for both E_DM9043 and E_DM9043_LOCK_TIMEOUT

HTH
