| Just installed RH 8, and let it do it's updates. One of them was the kernel, and am now running 2.4.20-18.8 I believe. This left two kernels to boot in the boot loader. If I boot the old kernel there is no problem. If I boot the new kernel there is a hard lockup if I go into screen saver settings or it kicks in, unless I comment out the Load DRI. Any issues with the ATI radeon 7000 and the new kernel? Did the new kernel break DRI? |

Did you try the 2.4.20 kernel? IIRC, the 2.4.18 had a bug in agp support that, at least here for my nvidia, caused lookups if *apg* was enabled. Greetings, Thomas |

| Thanks Thomas, but I already am running the 2.4.2-18.8 kernel "Thomas Richter" <thor@math.tu-berlin.de> wrote in message news:3F102331.9010400@math.tu-berlin.de... > Dirk wrote: > > > If I boot the old kernel there is no problem.
