Default ATI radeon lockup using DRI

Just installed RH 8, and let it do it's updates. One of them was the kernel,
and am now running 2.4.20-18.8 I believe. This left two kernels to boot in
the boot loader.

If I boot the old kernel there is no problem. If I boot the new kernel
there is a hard lockup if I go into screen saver settings or it kicks in,
unless I comment out the Load DRI.

Any issues with the ATI radeon 7000 and the new kernel? Did the new kernel
break DRI?

Did you try the 2.4.20 kernel? IIRC, the 2.4.18 had a bug in agp support
that, at least here for my nvidia, caused lookups if *apg* was enabled.

Greetings,
Thomas
