| Hello, I know that I should have do what I did , but here is it: I had build glibc-2.3.2. I had made a back up for /lib/libc-2.3.2.so and /libld-2.3.2.so and copied the new libc-2.3.2.so and ld-2.3.2.so to /lib. Trying to run simple commands like ls or cd gave an error that it cannot find libc-2.3.2.so. So I add /lib to /etc/ld.so.conf in the fist line and ran ldconfig. Now when trying to run ls and cd I get an error "permission denied". Putting back the original 2 so files (/lib/libc-2.3.2.so and /libld-2.3.2.so) did not help. When rebooting I get a kernel panic. What should I do ? It seems to me that booting from a rescue disk and uninstalling and installing anew the glibc won't help. I am running RedHat 9 on x86. Any idea? I swear I will not play anumore with globc on linux... Regards, John |
