Default Strange USB problem

Hi,

I recently installed a Gentoo with kernel 2.6.10 on my new laptop (samsung
x25, intel 915pm chipset) and I'm having some stange problems with USB.
When both uhci_hcd and ehci_hcd are loaded, then I get a "usb...: ...
device descriptor read/64 error -71" in my syslog when inserting my usb
stick. But removing and reinserting sometimes (but not always) gets it
working, but even then files read from the stick are sometimes broken.
I managed to get USB1 working by modprobing and removing ehci_usb at startup
(otherwise uhci_hcd won't work), but this is of course a little slow and
hotplug starts my usb insert script at bootime for dvice that do not exists
(this is really strange, I configured hotplug to start an automount script
to mount usb storage devices automatically when they are inserted and when
hotplug is initially started, it starts this script four times, don't know
is this is related to my usb problem)...
Any ideas how I can get USB2 to work correctly or at least any explanations
for this behaviour?

Thanks
Florian

Doesn't look fatal, IIRC had some problems with usb 2 and kernel
2.6.10, usb 2 works with 2.6.11 much better. I'd upgrade first
and see if this improves things. There's lots of work going on
concerning usb in kernel 2.6.

Good luck

Thanks for the hint, with kernel 2.6.11 it works.
