I have a Seagate SATA(ST3120827AS) hard dis
FedoraCore3 does not detect the device and requires me to manuall
select the driver for i

Have you tried Fedora Core 4, or another distribution such as Knoppix or
Ubuntu?

Is the drive detected by the BIOS? Some require enabling SATA support.
