Default block corruption during flashcopy on ibm fastt san storage

Hi there,

we tried to do an online copy of our oracle 9.2.0.7 database on a ibm fastT
san storage.

Allthoug we put the database in backup mode we were facing block
corruptions.

The copy was done with the ibm onboard flashcopy utility (enabling physical
snapshots) !

Any ideas what could went wrong ?

Thanks,
Bud

Did you use the dbverify utility to check your source db ?

Matthias

Did you recover the db? Backup mode is an inconsistent backup which
needs to be made consistent. Extra redo is generated to help with
this. Please tell us exactly what you did, including how you handled
the logs and archiving. Please tell what said there were corruptions
and what exactly did it say.
