Default IPv6 support

Hi,

I am working on a product which uses OCI8 driver to deal with Oracle
database. There is requirement to support IPv6 network protocol in our
product. The major changes will be done in network layer of our
product. But It seems application layer will also get affected which
uses OCI calls to connect with Database server.

So Do I need to go for OCI upgradation to support IPv6.

Which OCI version supports IPv6 and what are the major changes done in
OCI to support IPv6?

Thanks

Check note 362956.1 on MetaLink if you have access to it. To sum up:
no changes are necessary for mixed IPv4/IPv6 environments provided the
OS supports such configuration. No currently available Oracle Database
release supports IPv6 natively; 9i and 10g can't run in IPv6-only
environment. This includes client libraries. Native IPv6 support is
planned for the next major release (11g), but not guaranteed to be
implemented in this release.
