Default BUG #1407: instalation problems

The following bug has been logged online:

Bug reference: 1407
Logged by: Jair
Email address: neorage_001@yahoo.es
PostgreSQL version: -8.0.0-rc5-3
Operating system: windows 2000
Description: instalation problems
Details:

Hi i’ve been having some troubles installing PostgreSQL in the following
versions
postgresql-8.0.0-rc3
postgresql-8.0.0-rc5-2
postgresql-8.0.0-rc5-3
under Windows 2000. perhaps, i worked before with postgresql-8.0.0-rc3 under
the same plattform but in other computers.
This is an innusual situation, almost finishing the instalation (90% aprox.)
appear an alert message telling me:

failed to run initdb:128!
Please see the log file in
‘C:\ProgramFiles\PostgreSQL\.8.0.0-rc5\tmp\initdb.log´.
Note! You must read/copy this logfile before you clik OK, or it will be
automatically removed.

And when i open this file there’s nothing in it, even the size is 0Kb.
Could you tell me what can i do?
