Default Double Panic

Hi all,

My system is using SCO Operserver Enterprise System 5.0.5m running on Compaq
Proliant server with Compaq EFS 5.38a. Recently the system always halted and
show a message "Double Panic ....".
I check the hardware config using the command "hwconfig -c" and then shows
vec 13 is conflict.
I know that vec 13 is fpu and Compaq Wellness Driver.
Anybody over there have idea about this? Also, any diagnostic program in SCO
or compaq EFS can check any problem in my hardware or software.

Rgs,

Man.

EFS 5.38a may cause a problem under load with some RAID controllers, check
with a HP support person and document EU001012_CW01. The recommended EFS
level is 5.48 for the older systems.

What happened to the great stability of Openserver that I've been
reading about?

Come on, Joe, this is (used to be :-) a tech newsgroup when people
report about their problems with SCO's OSes so I think it's pretty
normal to see messages such as this.

Usually (but I saw some threads in the past) people do not post here
saying "Wow, my OS5 system's got an uptime of <insert a very long period
of time year> and counting and I'm very happy with that"; rather, they
post their problems and people TRY TO HELP 'EM OUT.

If you're in the position to point me to an operating system that
__NEVER__ experiences any problems and a public newsgrup where to find
evidences of this, then I'd love to know (and sell) it :-)

Best,
Roberto

It still needs to be configured correctly. Again, this may be very picky, but
an EFS is a third party written and tested driver. It is not Openserver per se.
Compaq released EFS 5.38a, discovered a problem with it and quickly released
EFS 5.38b. IIRC, the driver is about 3 years old.

Most people do see the stability of Openserver, so much so that they don't assume
there are or ever have been bugs in the code or drivers. Hence, instead of just
updating things they post a question.
