Default how to run setup from hardisk

is there a package for running the 'setup'
from harddisk. Tried to copy the /var/lib/setup
directory to HD, but that doesn't work properly.
I thought there used to be a package called hdsetup.tgz
for what I want, but it's no longer there.

rootdisks/install.zip

This can do what you want from a DOS (FAT-16, FAT-32) partition. Check
out its README (I wrote the first draft of it.

Another option, probably better if you have at least 16MB RAM, is to
copy the kernel and isolinux/initrd.img to the hard drive, and to tell
your boot loader to load the initrd.img. With loadlin that would be:
loadlin [drive:][\path-to\]bzimage initrd=[drive:][\path-to\]initrd.img

It's renamed, and no matter, it would not have done what you expected.
