| Hi every one ! :-) Well , i'm going to learn how to mess with Sendmail ... but before a get used with it i'm going to run it with its default config file . I'll run with it as long as i learn and i would like to know wether its default config file is " open relay " or not ? If itis , how to restrict ( easily for the moment ) it not to relay anything ? Thanks for your help . :-) |

(This is sendmail's default these days). BTW, Slackware's default mc file is at /usr/share/sendmail/cf/cf/sendmail-slackware.mc. You may wish to edit this to your own needs in the future. -- Mark Hill <usenet@mark.ukfsn.org> (Yahoo address not read) GPG KeyID: 4A3B58AC |

Go here , http://www.abuse.net/relay.html to check your server. The only thing I had to change in the sendmail-slackware.mc (/usr/share/sendmail/cf/cf) was to use my ISP's smtp server as the 'smart host', as more and more ISP's are rejecting 'residential' IP addresses now.
