| For all the feedback........I hate windows....and am looking forward to setting up my linux........will be browsing the links for help on my modem....failing that shall go out and buy one....... Called two pc shops in town today, both could not give me any advice as to what modem would work with my linux |

That is the only thing to be sure of. Some internals work fine, some kinda work enough to really piss you off, and some won't work at all.. If you can find an older internal ISA modem, that should work to, but to be safe, get an external. -- -alex49201 |

That type of modem will be a hardware modem, and shouldn't need any specific drivers. After running pppsetup, [1] you should be able to connect to the 'net with it.
