| Hi, I've noticed a very strange behavior of Mozilla installed with Slackware 9.1 (full install). The problem is that when I try to run it as normal user I see that the process of Mozilla is up for a few seconds and then disapears and Mozilla does not start at all. But when I run Mozila as root it starts and everything seems to be fine. I've checked all permissions of Mozilla files and these are correct. I also try to delete ~/.mozilla directory and start Mozilla again. No result. Using some switches of mozilla binary also does not work. Has anybody noticed such a strange behavior ? Maybe it was solved ? Regards -- Mateusz Łoskot, mateusz (at) loskot (dot) net GNU/Linux (Slackware 9.0) http://counter.li.org #220771 |

| I saw the solution this problem on a previous post. It is as follows: Transmute <username@host.domain> wrote: >>On 2003-11-12, James K <james@beastie.client1.we.attbi.com> said: > >>>> This may or may not be the same issue, but it's the same symptoms... >>>> >>>> Tonight my Mozilla-1.5 (dropline build, S9.0) went pear shaped. I resolved this problem as follows. Perhaps it will work for you. The file /usr/lib/mozilla-1.4/chrome/chrome.rdf Must be world readable so that a copy can be created in the user's ~/.mozilla/default profile. The file mode was 600 and the problem was resolved when I changed it to 644 Joe According to the response following this post, that solved the problem, so you could try that. In the future, you should search the newsgroup before posting a problem. I am not slamming you for posting, just offering a tip so that you can solve your problem faster. Happy Mozillaing.... | Not a problem Mateusz. I just thought I would give you a hint to save time. Wasn't trying to be a jerk just so you know. Hope that worked out for you. Peace...Gecko Mateusz Łoskot wrote: > Hi, > > I've noticed a very strange behavior of Mozilla > installed with Slackware 9.1 (full install). > > The problem is that when I try to run it as normal > user I see that the process of Mozilla is up for > a few seconds and then disapears and Mozilla does not > start at all.
