I have always installed the stock Gnome, and then just run the Dropline
installer. Works great. It doesn't get any better than this.

Thanks, little details like this help a lot.

But you do have plenty of experience with pgp - enough to know that
the unwarranted use of pgp violates this newsgroup's netiquette
standards. You are asked to refrain from the use of pgp in the
future.

Thank you.

Take care if you are printing by lprng. dropline silently kills lprng by
"updating" to cups. Then you have no working printing system. (At least
that happened to me, when I used dropline about a year ago) This way of
treating the sys admin is not very linuxish and even less slackish...

Good luck
Franz

Mozilla, IceWM and FluxBox are on CD1, Gnome is on CD2 and OOo isn't
included at all.

If it's in the main packages you will be prompted, but I suspect it's an
extra package which you'll have to install manually. Tgz is really very
easy, usually just "installpkg /path/to/package.tgz".

Pgp is also included but it is inappropriate to use pgp inline in a
usenet discussion forum. Please refrain from the use of pgp unless
it is warranted.
