The totally wrong file. If you're running 'startx' it isn't looking at anything in /etc/rc.d at all. Look at 'xinitrc' stuff, more importantly in your home directory. A google should show you exactly what you need. -- Rob | If not safe, Email and Jabber: | one can never be free. athlonrob at axpr dot net | -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/40wZhm6KEoOOAe0RAkFVAKCQBMN2lvh98YasltJwlQC/Dw/9cwCdGaZg SGArFCnVcDX28Oe/pEKDGq8= =gKj/ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Copy the file /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc to ~/.xinitrc and just experiment with it. |

But pgp looks at /etc/rc.d and it slows your system down. There is no reasonable excuse for using pgp in this posting and you are asked to show some consideration for other posters by refraining from the use of pgp unless absolutely necessary. cordially, as always, rm |
