| Slack 9.1, KDE Pentium 4, very new Intel Mobo, USB mouse with adapter to PS2 port, Samsung 172 N LCD monitor. Probably not a Slack problem but someone might know the answer. If monitor is off and machine is started and then monitor is turned on, the mouse pointer does not work. Keyboard works, not not mouse. If I cold start start with monitor on, all is well. Any idea why this happens. Just curious. Al |

That's just wierd. It'd be like me telling you every time my pen is sitting on my desk pointing towards the TV, the TV won't turn on. If the pen isn't on the desk, or if it points away from the TV, the TV works fine. That is... I've *never* heard of such a problem in my many years of hardware troubleshooting. :-) -- Rob | If not safe, Email and Jabber: | one can never be free. athlonrob at axpr dot net | -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/59zKhm6KEoOOAe0RAu+pAJ4llxQbIO/D6jW2JyVtmoIDADTITQCgvcE7 ooJGDfbSPFShhVZG0jfXycw= =ouz5 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

If so you should remove the pgp apparatus from your operating system. Note that inline pgp violates both usenet convention and this ng's policy and it is butt-ugly as well. Please show some respect for the other posters by putting pgp either in your headers or in a mime attachment. Thank you. cordially, as always, rm |
