FWIW, that's what happens to me with my Inspiron 2650. If you're really
interested in troubleshooting this, I'd take it to the ACPI dev list or
the linux-dell-laptops list (latter on Yahoo! Groups) as one group deals
a lot with ACPI and the latter one deals a lot with Dell laptops and
Linux... there's probably somebody there with your laptop trying to do
the same thing.

Perhaps the blank screen is the result of inlined pgp? As you
know, inline pgp violates usenet standards of netiquette. Could
you please show some respect for the rest of us by including pgp in
your headers or in a mime attachment?
