Default newbie question - HW reqs

Where do I find a list of recommended hardware for slackware 9?
Is there a 'hardware compatability list' somewhere?
The 'minimum requirements' on slackware.org is not much help

The compatybility is not distribution dependent, it depends on the kernel it
has little to do with a disro. Some differences can be caused because every
distro has a little different kernel. But if you compile your own one, you
get all the hardware support that is included in the kernel

I suggest looking for a particualar hardware on news groups archives
smth like this hardware name +kernel
