Do *not* post email addresses when you report the results.
Doing so reveals email addresses to spammers.

What's the question?

* Do you use PGP?
* Do you use PGP in newsgroups?
* Do you object to other people using PGP in newsgroups?
* Something else...

DON'T BE STUPID

Shell we vote:

baseball caps = yes
baseball caps = no

or maybe,

sunglasses = yes
sunglasses = no

I think this one is a very important vote. Although sunglasses protect your
eyes from the sun still, some people might think that you look silly and
this changes absolutely everything. So since the opinion of the others
regarding the sunglasses can not be ignored we must evaluate the validity
of the sunglasses in public areas to avoid civil and religious wars.
In fact, I personally think that sunglasses vs. no-sunglasses is almost like
Christianity vs. Islam. Do you reckon there are more Christians then
Muslims? If yes, then maybe we could vote and then by the power of the
majority we could get Muslims to believe in Christ. What do you think?
I strongly believe that democracy and voting could be solution to everything
in every aspect of our life. I think smokers are in minority as well and we
should vote to eradicate them, maybe even put them on a deserted island and
if they don't comply with the decision of the majority maybe ... just maybe
we could bomb the hell out of them and burn their homes to protect
democracy and freedom, so to speak.

Anyway, I think you should get a life, mate! Compile a kernel or something.

Even though I agree with the fact that I'd prefer him not to publish
email-addresses, I've never heard of spammers scanning the bodies of
posts. AFAIK they only retrieve XOVER information.

I had a spammer find an email address of mine that was only mentioned
in the body of a post.

But you don't mind to post your address to somebody totally unknown?

Far less risky, as far as spammers harvesting adresses is concerned.
I doubt that a smammer would bother putting up an on-topic post
just to harvest a dozen or so adresses. Forv example, letting friends
and family who use Microsoft Outlook know your email address is a far
greater risk.

That being said, http://www.sneakemail.com/ is a great solution for
those who don't want to expoise their email adresses.

I'm not thinking of spammers. This PGP thing has become something
religious to at least one poster in this group, and if you accidentally
voted "yes" to PGP you might wakeup and find that your address is
subscribed to dozens and dozens of mail-lists.

For the 100th time:

No one cares whether you use PGP or not.
Just put in your headers and refer to it in a legal sig.
Get it out of our faces.

There is absolutely no need to clutter up the body of messages with that
stuff. The utility could just as well have been designed to put it in the
headers. Only the unethical intentions of the program's writer's and users
to advertise it in the mails and on the Usenet are responsible for this
approach being used.

There should be NOTHING in the body of a mail beyond the discussion in progress
except for a maximum of 4 lines immediately below a proper sig delimiter "-- ".

You are being hassled not because you use PGP, but because you just have to
get in everyone's face with it.

So don't whine about the mailing lists....

Rude, unethical, and selfish people always have a hard life.
