| I'm trying to get NoteEdit working, and I've run into a problem with inserting notes using an external MIDI keyboard. NoteEdit doesn't receive any notes from the keyboard. I know that the keyboard configuration is working, because I can hear it through the soundsystem, with different channels etc. as selected on the keyboard; and I know that NoteEdit can use the MIDI output because I can hear playback from a NoteEdit score. I'm using ALSA and Timidity. Can anyone suggest where I should look to figure out why NoteEdit doesn't get input from the keyboard? I'm new to Linux music systems and am just learning my way around. Many thanks for any help! It may be possible to do MIDI emulation with Timidity, but are you sure that the joystick port can receive MIDI input? If not I'd recommend checking on that, or trying with a real MIDI card. > Keyboard: MK-4902 (no-name brand) Wow, same one I have! I'll be trying with a SB PCI 512 and a 2.6.x kernel. I would try right now, but cannot find the AC adapter for the keyboard. -- /dev/rob0 - preferred_email=i$((28*28+28))@softhome.net or put "not-spam" or "/dev/rob0" in Subject header to reply |
