| Hi all, I've got a nagging problem on my Slackware 9.1 maintained with Swaret. I updated my packages using Swaret as usual and I don't know what went wrong but my window manager session (XFCE 4.0.3) closes automatically after a certain amount of time. This is what my syslog says : gconfd (jrn-1231): Received signal 15, shutting down cleanly So it seems it's a gconf (Gnome) problem. I tried killing gconfd but it respawns itself after a few minutes. I've also deleted all my .gconf and ..gconfd config files, to no avail. How can I fix the problem without removing all Gnome packages (I use too many of them to get rid of Gnome)? Has anyone seen that problem before? -- The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. -- Oscar Wilde |

This probably doesn't matter though, as I think they're autogenerated. More appropriate would be to rename the config file of the offending app, XFCE. > Has anyone seen that problem before? I had a vaguely similar problem, with xmms and the songchange plugin. I set it to shutdown at the end of the song, and also had it start playing on the next song at powerup. Can you guess what happened? Yup, I needed the rescue disk... It was like initdefault:0 doh! Something similar may be happening in your setup, I hope you find it. -- Laurence |
