RH 9 to Slack 9.1 migration: completed - just fine !

Yesterday I was able to finish my (desktop) RH 9 to Slack 9.1 migration.

It is amazing... 5 years ago I moved from Slack to RH because the first was
out-dated. Just to make Licq to work (thread safe) do need the XFree
recompilation !

Now the current Slack distro is just fresh as any other production distribution.

Plus, as I am using just Slack to build all the servers (and to some server
migrations from RH too...) it make sense to eat my own dog-food - using Slack
at my desktop.

All the systems from RH 9 are running just fine, some:

Evolution 1.4.5
VMware 4.0.5
UT \___ with a GeForce and OpenGL
UT 2003 /
Mozilla 1.6b
KDE 3.2
Licq 1.2.7
mldonkey 2.5-12
Kernel 2.6 ---- what with RH is a pain to accomplish
etc...

So... my big thank to all involved with this distro!!

Hope, soon, we could give a substantial $uport to slackware.org...

How did you manage to get this to work properly? I'm using the build from
linuxpackages.net, and it (95% of the time) refuses to close properly and
needs to be killed. It won't restart until I either kill the
evolution-wombat process or remove the temp files.

Welcome to Slackland.

Isn't it great how easy and trouble free it is to install and run all
different apps?

I did nothing but to install a couple of Gnome libs ang the spell stuff.

But let me say that sometimes I did kill wombat manually but this was not
because Evol did not close clearlly.

I am using the very same ~/evolution subdir I was usning at Red Hat.

How about you try a fresh ~/evolution ?
