Yeah it is pretty sad - I'm ready to give up. It used to be a civilized
and useful group. Now I see mainly pointless arguing about nonsense. It
doesn't benefit anyone and I don't see the point.

The complaint wasn't about trolls. It was about a spammer.

Guy Macon didn't post the complaint. I did. Don't try to steal my credit.

The spamming is the problem. not my complaining about the spamming.

The latest net-abuse isn't from some new abuser from news.admin.net-abuse.usenet.
It's from the same abuser who has been spamming alt.os.linux.slackware.

The abuser who has been spamming alt.os.linux.slackware is the same person who
signs his posts "cordially, as always, rm. He used to post the exact same
"pgp trash troll delete" spam under his own account, and later started posting
the same shit using an anonymous remailer.

Why are you so anxious to defend Macon if you are not him? Macon
is the laughingstock of this newsgroup. Nobody else would care
about defending him.

Having just found this ng today, I'm impressed. It's Slack specific;
didn't think there'd be a group like this. As a new subscriber to this
group, I'd like everyone to calm down. No need to have two different
threads about how bad the spam/trolling has gotten in the last two weeks.
That just discourages newcomers. In all groups--IN ALL fucking groups
there has been an increase in spam. alt.binaries.multimedia.anime.* has
been slumped with it, and it used to _never_ have spam.

Why can't people just treat this ng like their e-mail account, and
creatively take care of the spam? I'd like to see a thread on "How I deal
with this ng's spam," so maybe newbies can update thier killfile, filter,
etc. That's what the slackware gods want you to do.

As a Slackware user since 8.1, I'm staying with this group; I'll just have
to add that guy who keeps posting pgp troll shit to my killfile.

Stick around a bit, and you probably won't be so impressed. I watch the
newsgroup, and most all of what's in here is troll wars, and the idiots
going back and forth about the merits of PGP. Fucking useless. It's
actually pretty rare that you'll see anything of value, related to
Slackware, posted in here. Pretty sad, really.
